Dr M: Go ahead, try to break Pakatan apart

(The Star) – Whoever wants to break Pakatan Harapan apart can try to do so, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The Pakatan Harapan chairman was asked to comment on a statement issued by its secretariat saying that there were attempts by former Umno strongman Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein to oust DAP and Parti Amanah Negara from the coalition.

“They can try. I have not met Hishammuddin,” said Dr Mahathir with a smirk.

On Tuesday (Oct 15), Pakatan affirmed that its coalition would include DAP and Parti Amanah Negara, and urged Opposition politicians to stop any campaign to drive a wedge in the coalition.

They said that Hishammuddin, in various articles and interviews, had showed an inclination towards politics and governance based on racial lines.

“This is an outdated mode of politics that runs contrary to the inclusive politics advocated by Pakatan,” it said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 15).
