Perak PKR chairman retracts statement

(TheStar) – Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak was left red-faced over his statement that Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal has joined the party.

In a short statement, state PKR information chief Raja Azam Shah Raja Omar Ikram said Farhash Wafa Salvador has retracted his statement.

“There was a miscommunication. There won’t be further statements from him.

“Any inconvenience caused is regrettable,” he added.

Farhash Wafa Salvador had on Friday night issued a press statement, welcoming Syed Abu Hussin to PKR.

He claimed that the former Umno man’s application to join the party had been approved by the central leadership.

Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz quit Umno in June last year following the 14th General Election to become an independent.

In response, Syed Abu Hussin had issued a press statement to reject the claim.

“I did not apply to be a PKR member or any other party. I remain as an independent,” he said.

“Whoever issued this fake news needs to take responsibility and retract it to clear my name,” he added.
