Reformist Convention wants actual date when Mahathir will hand power to Anwar


(Yahoo News) – Eight resolutions including calling for a clear date of the transition plan between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad were passed at the Reformist Convention here 2019 on Sunday (Nov 24).

It also called on the government to abolish draconian laws including the Internal Security Act (ISA) and the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).

The resolutions want racial politics to be rejected and racial harmony to be preserved in line with Article 153 of the Federal Constitution.

It also wants the government to form a Majlis Reformasi Malaysia to gather those from various backgrounds to give input to the government in creating laws and forming national agendas.

It proposed the establishment of a Joint Digital Media Council to boost efforts to fight fake news on the Internet, among others.

The event was attended by among others Anwar, who is PKR president, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, PKR Youth chief and Johor Baru MP Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir and former PKR deputy president Dr Syed Husin Ali.
