Khazanah files police report on leak of Malaysia Airlines board papers

(The Edge) – Upset and shocked by what appears to be a leak of the entire board papers on Malaysia Airlines Bhd, Khazanah Nasional Bhd wants police to act.

Sources said the country’s sovereign wealth fund lodged a police report on the matter yesterday.

The sources said this was not a normal leak of information to the media which typically does not involve such detailed information. It appears that the entire set of confidential board papers on the various options being considered for the troubled national carrier was given to the news portal which published them in a series of articles earlier this week.

The main pieces were on the proposed merger of Malaysia Airlines with AirAsia Group Bhd and AirAsia X Bhd.

Sources say only a small group of people had access to the documents as the proposals were deemed very confidential.

Khazanah worry that such a blatant leak of board papers containing detailed and confidential information will make it tough for it to undertake future deals with third parties. The integrity of its processes is at stake on the matter.
