Khalid Samad’s ex-aide arrested by police
(Feedly.com) – Former Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad says an ex-aide of his has been arrested by police.
“My former political secretary Hj Azli was remanded by the police yesterday over a complaint that an architectural company was given a fake ‘DO’ by a broker,” he said in a Twitter post on Sunday (May 17).
It is believed that “DO” stood for development order.
He added that the “broker” was rewarded for allegedly using the name of his former political secretary.
“I can’t say more than that because the case is still under police investigation. I have been told that the broker in question had received millions of ringgit by using the name (of the ex-aide). The belief that ‘cash is king’ could have led to him being successful.
“Rich broker, but the name that was sold was wronged,” he said.
Earlier, an online portal reported that an ex-minister would be called in for questioning following the arrest of his aide over allegations of bribery.
The same report stated that DBKL officers and his former deputy minister would also be called.
When contacted, Bukit Aman CCID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said: “At this point, I can only confirm that three people have been arrested based on a complaint by an architect.”
