Why did Pakatan have separate meetings with Mahathir and Anwar?
The truth of the matter is, Pakatan Harapan is split into the Mahathir faction and the Anwar faction. And they cannot agree on who should be PM9 in the event they manage to topple the Perikatan Nasional government.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Saifuddin Nasution is supposed to be one of Anwar Ibrahim’s masterminds and political strategists. The problem with him is he underestimates the intelligence of Malaysians and he thinks he can get away with his spins. He does not realise how hollow and shallow his spins sound.
Whether the Pakatan Harapan leaders’ meeting with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday was official or unofficial (READ BELOW) is not in the least important. What is important, which Saifuddin did not explain, is why in the first place the Pakatan Harapan leaders met Mahathir. This, Saifuddin, did not explain.
Mahathir clinging to straw as he goes under for the last time
The official or unofficial form of the meeting is of no consequence. The content of the meeting is.
So, what was the purpose of the meeting? What was discussed? What was agreed? Why did Pakatan Harapan hold separate meetings with Mahathir and Anwar Ibrahim? Why did Anwar boycott Pakatan Harapan’s meeting with Mahathir? And why the need to explain that the meeting was unofficial, which was why Anwar and PKR saw no reason to attend the meeting?
Would Anwar and PKR have attended the meeting had it been an official meeting? Or would Anwar and PKR still not have attended the meeting anyway?
Anwar refused to attend the meeting with Mahathir and held a separate meeting with the Pakatan leaders
And there they go again saying that all decisions would be made by consensus. For 21 years since 1999 they have been conning Malaysians by saying all decisions would be made by consensus, and that if they cannot agree on a consensus they will agree to disagree?
Was the sacking of Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim based on consensus or on agree to disagree? Was the appointment of Azmin Ali as the new Selangor Menteri Besar based on consensus or on agree to disagree? Was the closing down of Pakatan Rakyat based on consensus or on agree to disagree? Was the “Langkah Kajang” based on consensus or on agree to disagree?
Yes, there are hundreds of incidences over the last 21 years that were NOT based on consensus or on agree to disagree. So, this so-called consensus or agree to disagree is hogwash. Saifuddin should stop this 21-year-old lie, which time and time again has been proven hollow and shallow.
Anwar and Mahathir are finally officially divorced
The truth of the matter is, Pakatan Harapan is split into the Mahathir faction and the Anwar faction. And they cannot agree on who should be PM9 in the event they manage to topple the Perikatan Nasional government.
The other truth is, Pakatan Harapan consists of just DAP, PKR and Amanah. Parti Pribumi Bersatu is officially with Perikatan Nasional. Another truth is, Mahathir and his people have been sacked from Bersatu and are now party-less or independent members of parliament.
Mahathir may go to court to try to get his sacking declared null. Anwar did the same thing in 1998 when Mahathir sacked him from Umno. For ten years the case went on and on in court. Finally, however, the court ruled that Anwar’s sacking is legal and cannot be challenged in court.
And if Mahathir also tries to challenge his sacking in court he will face that same fate. And was it not Mahathir who created that law to make sure he can sack people from Umno and no one can challenge that sacking in court? Malays call this senjata makan tuan while Indians call this karma.
Pakatan Harapan claims they have 130 members of parliament with them. In that case, just form the new government on Monday and let’s put an end to all this nonsense. The whole world is collapsing and Malaysia is not going to be spared. And Pakatan Harapan is fiddling while Rome burns.
All this wasted time can be better spent in investigating all the abuse of power and corruption cases involving the Pakatan Harapan leaders and ministers during their 22 months in power, starting with Lim Guan Eng.

Meeting with Dr M not official, Harapan still strong – Saifuddin Nasution
(Malaysiakini) – The meeting between former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and several Pakatan Harapan leaders in the capital city yesterday was not an official one, said Harapan presidential council secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He stressed that the Harapan coalition is still strong, and that all decisions would be made according to consensus among all members.
“The afternoon meeting was not official. So, PKR did not take part as we were busy with our own duties.
“We (Harapan) remain strong. They (other Harapan component party leaders) have the right to meet with anyone for Harapan’s mutual interests. We respect and take into account all views,” he said when contacted by Malaysiakini.
Saifuddin, who is also PKR secretary-general, was responding to the absence of PKR leaders at the meeting in the Albukhary Foundation building in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting came to light after a photograph of it was shared by Mahathir’s aide Adam Mukhriz Mohd Muhayeddin on social media.
DAP created Mahathir and now do not know how to handle him
Seen in the image were the former premier, contested Bersatu deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir, contested Bersatu secretary-general Marzuki Yahaya, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, Warisan president Shafie Apdal, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, and DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke.
Saifuddin further confirmed to Malaysiakini that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim had a separate meeting with Harapan component party leaders at the latter’s residence in Segambut Dalam last night.
“Yes, we had a meeting at Anwar’s house. The meeting was to reaffirm our commitment to strengthen Harapan in all decisions and political actions,” he said.
“All major decisions will be made according to consensus. Strengthening Harapan is our priority,” Saifuddin added.
Several pictures of the meeting with Anwar were uploaded on Harapan’s Facebook page with the caption – “InshaAllah there will be big changes in the near future”.
Mohamad, Lim, Lok, and Saifuddin were seen in the picture with Anwar, who is also Harapan chairperson.
