Kim Quek: looking at things through coloured lenses
Kim Quek should stop claiming the moral high ground because DAP and Pakatan Harapan stink to high heaven. We are beginning to see worms crawling out of the can. And as we go along even more cans are going to be opened and more worms are going to crawl out. By GE15 many DAP and Pakatan Harapan people are going to be busy in court fighting corruption charges.

In his Malaysiakini article titled “The acquittal of Musa Aman stinks to high heaven”, Kim Quek, a PKR member, said:
“The onus is on the current Perikatan Nasional coalition government, which snatched power illegitimately from Pakatan Harapan three months ago, to prove by deeds and reasoning that it is otherwise.”
How did Perikatan Nasional “snatch power illegitimately”, as alleged by Kim Quek? Did Muhyiddin Yassin send in the army and grabbed power? Was the previous prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, assassinated? Did Muhyiddin arrest Mahathir and throw him into jail? How precisely did Muhyiddin Yassin grab power illegitimately?
Over the last three months we have been hearing the Pakatan Harapan people, in particular the Chinese, repeat the mantra: Perikatan Nasional is an illegitimate government, Muhyiddin Yassin is a backdoor prime minister, the people gave the mandate to Pakatan Harapan, etc.
Says who? Just because you say so does not make it true. It is just like the Chinese who never studied history in their Chinese schools who say the Malays should go back to Indonesia and give the country back to the Orang Asli. Just because you say so does not make it true.
Can’t people like Kim Quek get it into their thick heads that Mahathir resigned as prime minister? Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong then tried to persuade Mahathir to withdraw his resignation and stay on as prime minister but he refused.
Pakatan Harapan also tried to pujuk Mahathir to stay on and he also refused. Hence the Agong had no choice but to appoint a new prime minister, as was His Majesty’s constitutional duty.
His Majesty then summoned the 222 members of parliament to the Istana to ask them one-by-one who they wanted as the new prime minister, and the majority said Muhyiddin Yassin. This was parliament’s choice, not His Majesty’s choice. His Majesty’s choice was Mahathir but Mahathir refused. It was the members of parliament who wanted Muhyiddin. Is that not following the Federal Constitution of Malaysia to the letter and in spirit?
So, in what way did Perikatan Nasional snatch power illegitimately from Pakatan Harapan? Kim Quek and people like him are spinning lies to hasut the rakyat to benci the Agong. That is seditious under Malaysian law. Kalau tangkap nanti kata kerajaan zalim.
They say they have freedom of speech and can say what they like. If I were to say people like Kim Quek can go back to China if they are not happy in Malaysia, is that not also freedom of speech? And if not, why? Freedom of speech works both ways.
Kim Quek says the Perikatan Nasional government must prove itself by deeds and actions. Is this what happened when the Pakatan Harapan government dropped so many cases involving the Pakatan Harapan leaders and supporters?
What about the corruption case involving the Penang Undersea Tunnel? The MACC investigation proved that corruption did take place and the investigation reported proved it. So why was the case dropped? Was it because it involved the DAP Penang Chief Minister, DAP Finance Minister and many other DAP leaders?
