Yayasan Sabah files RM872 million claim against Musa Aman

Yayasan Sabah has filed a claim at the High Court here against former Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman to recover RM872 million which was “lost” in a dubious logging activity agreement.

(NST) – Its director, Datuk Jamalul Kiram Zakaria, said they made the application via e-filing on June 16.

“On behalf of the Yayasan Sabah Board of Trustees, we would like to reclaim RM872 million which was lost during a dubious logging activity agreement.

“We believe the money belongs to Yayasan Sabah,” he said in a statement.

Yayasan Sabah is the largest logging concessionaire in the state since it was established in 1966 to oversee Sabahans’ social welfare and education development.

“Musa had failed to execute his ‘fiduciary’ responsibility to uphold the value of Yayasan Sabah as a former board chairman,” Jamalul said, adding that the foundation also included recipients of the funds in its application.

On June 9, Musa was acquitted and discharged of all 46 criminal charges linked to timber concession contracts in the state.
