No clash with Musa over Salleh’s application to rejoin Umno, says Bung

(FMT) – Sabah Umno chief Bung Moktar Radin has laughed off a claim that he and former chief minister Musa Aman are at odds over whether to accept former federal minister Salleh Said Keruak back into the party.

Yesterday, a news portal reported that Bung and Musa had a disagreement over Salleh’s application to rejoin Umno, with Musa allegedly opposing it.

Bung said it was not true that he and Musa had clashed over the issue.

“This is just a tactic to put Sabah Umno members at loggerheads with each other,” the Kinabatangan MP told FMT.

“There is no fight whatsoever, we are always communicating with each other.”

Quoting a source, the report said Sabah Umno was divided with several factions, including supreme council member Abdul Rahman Dahlan, supporting Musa and others siding with Bung.

The report also claimed that despite Sabah Umno being given the autonomy to accept anyone as a member, Bung had left it to the party central committee to decide on Salleh’s application.

Last week, Bung confirmed that Salleh, who is also a former Sabah chief minister, had applied to rejoin Umno, saying he had no qualms about taking him back with open arms.

He added that Salleh’s application was being processed and under consideration.

Salleh, who quit Umno in December 2018, confirmed earlier that he had cancelled his application to join PKR.
