So, what is the real reason PAS is not contesting the Sabah election?

So, did PAS volunteer or willingly stay out of the Sabah state election or was PAS betrayed by Umno and Bersatu? Can the real official spokesman for the party please stand up and clarify?

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said today “the party must set its eye on winning the opinion war” (see below). And then the party issues conflicting statements regarding its stand or decision on not contesting the Sabah state election.

How to win the opinion war when PAS keeps shooting itself in its own foot and people get wounded by friendly fire? Why not talk only when you have something useful to say and not talk because you feel gatal to talk?

In this first place, who is the official spokesman for PAS? Do they have one? Or can everybody issue their personal views and treat them as an ‘official’ statement?

We must understand that politicians love the sound of their own voice. So, they will talk if even given half a chance to talk. And most times they will tok kok. Hence the less chance we give them to talk the better for everyone, especially for their own party.

Have they never heard the saying that loose lips sink ships?

One person says in the spirit of comradeship they are staying out of the Sabah state election. Then the President says they are staying out of the Sabah state election so that the party can focus on its preparation for GE15. Another says PAS has been side-lined. Yet another says they are sad that PAS was not given any seats to contest in Sabah but they consider Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s candidates as PAS candidates even if they are not PAS members. Then there was the announcement that PAS will be contesting ten seats.

So, did PAS volunteer or willingly stay out of the Sabah state election or was PAS betrayed by Umno and Bersatu? Can the real official spokesman for the party please stand up and clarify?

Then, to confuse matters further, we have Muhyiddin Yassin announcing the name of the Bersatu Chief Minister while Ahmad Zahid Hamid says the Chief Minister will come from Barisan Nasional, meaning Umno, of course.

And Malaysians who read all these conflicting and confusing announcements ask: what the fook is going on?

To win in the court of public opinion, PAS must get its narrative right

(MMO) – PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said today the party must set its eye on winning the opinion war now that it is part of the ruling coalition, as he rallies the youth wing to rise to the occasion ahead of a rumoured plan for early snap elections.

Speaking at the youth wing’s 66th assembly in Kelantan, where the party has ruled for three decades, Ibrahim, who is also the minister of energy, science, technology, environment and climate change, said he predicts more attacks against PAS on issues the party often fails to counter effectively.

Is Zuhdi Marzuki the official spokesman for PAS?

Did Umno stab PAS in the back?

So, who decides the new Sabah CM if Gabungan Rakyat Sabah wins the election?

(Malaysiakini) – After clashing over seat allocations, PN and BN are now engaged in a dispute over its Sabah chief minister candidate.

Earlier today, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin proposed Sabah Bersatu chief Hajiji Mohd Noor as the chief minister should the state opposition pact win. He admitted that the proposal would need the agreement of its PN and BN partners.

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has now appeared to dissent the choice. Without explicitly referring to Muhyiddin or Hajiji, Zahid tweeted that any chief minister candidate will be determined after the election is over.

“BN has decided that the Sabah chief minister will be chosen by BN assemblypersons and its political allies when we have enough seats to form the new state government,” he said.
