Another MP seeks for no confidence vote against PM
(The Malaysian Reserve) – KUBANG PASU MP Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah becomes the latest lawmaker urging for a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister (PM) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in the next parliamentary sitting.
On his social media accounts, Amiruddin posted a letter addressed to Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun regarding the request today.
“I have sent a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on the motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister dated 15 October 2020 for the next parliamentary session.
“This effort is to uphold the principle of restoring the people’s mandate in 14th General Election,” Amiruddin, who is also the secretary of the yet-to-registered Parti Pejuang Tanah Air said.
On Wednesday, Umno’s stalwart Tengku Tan Sri Razaleigh Hamzah revealed he had sought for a no-confidence vote against Muhyiddin last month, on the eve of a crucial state election in Sabah.
In a letter dated Sept 25 to Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun, Tengku Razaleigh requested for assurance that the motion tabled against Muhyiddin would be given priority when the house reconvenes on Nov 2. The bold disclosure was made a day after his audience with the King.
