Anwar main perang saraf sebab rancangan rampas kuasa sudah gagal
Anwar hopes that if he calls a donkey a stallion the Agong will believe that the donkey is a stallion. But only a donkey will believe a donkey is a stallion, and His Majesty is no donkey. So, all these letters and documents are going to continue for the next few days and Anwar’s dream of becoming PM9 becomes our nightmare.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Anwar Ibrahim’s coup attempt has failed. Under the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, His Majesty, Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, cannot sack or remove the sitting Prime Minister, even though His Majesty has the power to appoint the Prime Minister.
So, even if Anwar does have 121, or 131, or 158 Members of Parliament with him, as he claims, so what? What does that matter? What can the Agong do about it? What must the Agong do about it? Why must the Agong do anything about it?
His Majesty the Agong needs to do nothing. Nothing! Nada! Zilch! It is not the Agong’s job to do anything.
There are only two ways to remove a Prime Minister. One is by a vote of no confidence in Parliament by the majority of the 222 MPs. The other is through the ballot box during a general election, like in GE14. Other than that, the PM stays as PM, even if less than 112 MPs support him.
Does that sound undemocratic? Who says democracy is democratic? If it was, it would have been outlawed long ago.
Anwar is now shifting his campaign to the court of public opinion because he knows he has failed to pressure or blackmail the Agong into sacking Muhyiddin. Anwar is now the de facto persona non grata in Istana Negara. Malays say, hidung tak mancung pipi tersorong-sorong. He hopes public opinion can pressure His Majesty the Agong into sacking Muhyiddin.
Anwar also hopes his perang saraf can excite Umno and many others into joining him in his march to Putrajaya. So, Anwar is circulating all sorts of letters and documents, which you can see below.
Anwar wants to give the impression he has won. He wants to create the perception that Muhyiddin’s Perikatan Nasional government has fallen. Anwar’s message is: he is now the Prime Minister or PM9. The only thing is that His Majesty the Agong is recalcitrant and refuses to swear him in as PM9.
