Allow me to debate DAP’s P. Ramasamy

Does Ramasamy want to bet on that? I bet RM10,000 that Muhyiddin will not fall and will celebrate Christmas and New Year in Putrajaya. On or not? Please publish your response on your Facebook or Twitter and I will send the RM10,000 to my lawyer and get him to contact you.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

DAP’s Doctor Professor P. Ramasamy asked whether Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s days are numbered. Then Ramasamy goes on to present his thesis (which I have marked in bold/red below).

Let us analyse what he says and see whether his thesis is becoming of someone who is a Doctor, Professor and the Deputy Chief Minister of Penang.

There is always the possibility that Umno, being a party without any principles, might take up the offer of more posts if offered by Muhyiddin.

“Umno is a party without any principles,” says Ramasamy.

For 37 years, DAP had been whacking Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. They exposed his transgressions and wrongdoings. They revealed that Mahathir had cost Malaysia RM31.5 billion in the Bank Negara Forex disaster back in the late 1980s-early 1990s (now worth RM65 billion). They demanded a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) and said both Mahathir and Anwar Ibrahim should resign and should be prosecuted for their wrongdoings.

They said Tun Daim Zainuddin and Mahathir had stolen/wasted RM200 billion of the rakyat’s money. They also said Anwar was part of that Gang of Three who robbed Malaysia. They identified Anwar as one of those who helped make it possible for Mahathir and Daim to rob Malaysia. They asked how can Mahathir’s children be billionaires unless Mahathir is corrupt and abused his power.

And after all this DAP still made Mahathir their Prime Minister

They called Mahathir ‘Malaysia’s Mugabe’. They promised, if they ever come to power, they will arrest Mahathir and Daim, put them in jail and throw away the keys, and leave those two to rot in jail.

It was DAP who first revealed in Parliament that Anwar had been implicated in many cases of sexual misconduct, which included homosexual activities, and they demanded a police investigation.

DAP is trying to claim the moral high ground. Is it not DAP that made Anwar the boss of Barisan Alternatif in 1999 and made Mahathir the boss of Pakatan Harapan in 2018? Then they made Daim the boss of the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP).

And Ramasamy has the gall to say Umno is a party without any principles. Does Ramasamy know what the definition of ‘principles’ is or not?

It is not that Anwar lacks the majority support from the MPs, it just that he has not been given the fair opportunity to prove this majority before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or even the Parliament. There are too many obstacles that Anwar has to face and resolve before Putra Jaya is within his insight.

What ‘fair opportunity’ is the good Doctor and Professor talking about? Ramasamy is a Deputy Chief Minister. Does he not know how the system works? What obstacles is Anwar facing? Who is the one putting obstacles in his way?

Anwar was granted an audience with His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, was he not? Did the Agong refuse to meet Anwar? Did anyone prevent or block Anwar from driving into Istana Negara?

So what obstacles is Ramasamy talking about? Who put those so-called obstacles in Anwar’s way? In what way was Anwar not given a ‘fair opportunity’? Does Ramasamy know what he is talking about or not?

Anwar was granted an audience with His Majesty the Agong to prove he has the majority support of the MPs

Anwar WAS granted an audience with the Agong to impress upon His Majesty he has obtained the support of the majority of the 222 MPs. That was done, was it not? Anwar was NOT denied his audience. So, what’s the problem? Why is Ramasamy grumbling? That’s what Anwar wanted and that’s what Anwar got.

What does Ramasamy expect next? Does Ramasamy expect the Agong to sack Muhyiddin Yassin? Which Article in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia stipulates that based on rumours and unsupported claims the Agong must sack the Prime Minister?

Even if it is proven beyond any shadow of doubt, and is not just rumour, that Anwar DOES have the majority support of the 222 MPs, there is still no Article in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia that says the Agong can and/or must sack Muhyiddin.

Undang-undang apa Ramasamy guna ni?

Of course, the former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad is not resting on his laurels. He is waiting for an opportunity to wrest the post even though nobody takes him seriously. Perhaps he lives in the make belief world that he is the best prime minister for the country.

Is Mahathir not DAP-Pakatan Harapan’s Prime Minister? Why is Ramasamy attacking his own Prime Minister?

Muhyiddin had some popularity initially even though he could not get rid of the Albatross around his neck for coming to power through the back door.

Muhyiddin became Prime Minister because DAP-Pakatan Harapan’s Prime Minister, Mahathir, resigned. And when His Majesty tried to persuade Mahathir to not resign, he refused and still insisted on resigning. Hence the post of PM was suddenly rendered vacant.

The Agong then summoned all 222 MPs to Istana Negara to ask them one-by-one who they support for PM8 and more than 112 MPs expressed support for Muhyiddin. Hence the Agong swore in Muhyiddin as PM8.

How does this make Muhyiddin a ‘backdoor’ Prime Minister? He went in through the front door — the front door of Istana Negara and the front door of Seri Perdana in Putrajaya. Mana ada back door?

While the first wave of Covid-19 was well managed, thanks to the skills of the director general of heath and not the minister, the government seems not prepared for the second wave that struck the nation.

The ‘second wave’ is the Sabah State Election Cluster or Kluster PRN Sabah. And did Pakatan Harapan not issue a statement saying that they support the move to dissolve the Sabah State Assembly so that a snap state election can be held?

Why did DAP insist that the Sabah State Assembly be dissolved and a snap election be called after Shafie Apdal lost his majority?

Pakatan Harapan wanted the Sabah State Assembly to be dissolved so that a snap state election can be held. Why? Shafie Apdal had already lost his majority in the Sabah State Assembly (just like they say Muhyiddin has lost his majority in Parliament). So why not Shafie do what DAP-Pakatan Harapan says Muhyiddin must do?

In Shafie’s case, they say even though he has lost his majority he should not resign and hand power. In Muhyiddin’s case, they say since he has lost his majority he must resign and hand power. Ramasamy, the good Doctor and Professor, cakap apa ni? Orang kampung pun lagi bijak dari dia ni.

We have reached a point where we are not sure who is running the government.

Perikatan Nasional is running the government. Everyone knows this. Only Ramasamy does not.

Apart from Bersatu taking most of the key cabinet posts, its leaders having nothing to offer in managing the affairs of the country.

That is Perikatan Nasional’s internal matter. It has nothing to do with DAP and Pakatan Harapan. Why does Ramasamy not address DAP’s internal problems instead? Many are not happy with Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng. Many DAP people are ashamed about Kit Siang and Guan Eng and the corruption they are involved in. Ramasamy should look at the elephant in the room.

Umno is angry not because Muhyiddin is incompetent, but because he has not allocated enough posts for Umno. Bersatu—a party with the least number of MPs —has taken the lion’s share of cabinet posts. PAS and Umno might have embraced each other in the Muafakat Nasional, but the cracks are beginning to appear.

Read Umno’s announcement below and no need for DAP to worry about the feelings of Umno people. This is a family matter involving Malays. That is not DAP’s affair. Does Ramasamy think 100% of DAP people support Anwar Ibrahim (or Kit Siang and Guan Eng)? Even Ramasamy is seen as an “Uncle Tom” who the Chinese view as a joke.

Unless there is a last minute deal in the form of cabinet reshuffle to get the acquiescence of Umno, the stage has been set for the showdown between Bersatu and Umno. If this happens, Anwar’s boast of majority might be translated into reality to form the next government. Looks like Muhyiddin’s days are numbered.
