Anwar: the virus that is causing all the problems for Malaysia

The late Karpal Singh knew that Anwar was the devil, or one of the devils, in this whole thing when he said back in 2009 that Anwar has caused a lot of problems for the country and must repent. Yes, Mahathir and Daim may have caused a lot of damage to Malaysia but it was a trio, not a duo, in that gang of thieves.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Malaysia is suffering. Malaysia is in trouble. Malaysia is going downhill. Malaysia has gone to the dogs. Malaysia is in the pits. Malaysia is a kleptocracy. Malaysia is a third-world country. Malaysia is a failed state. Malaysia is corrupt. Malaysia needs to be saved.

Yes, we have been hearing all those “Malaysia is yadda, yadda, yadda” from the PKR, DAP and Pakatan Harapan bunch since God knows when. Until today, Malaysia is embroiled in political turmoil when the focus should instead be on solving the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic and taking care of the economy.

The toll of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy is devastating. But the only thing Malaysians are concerned about is who should be the next Prime Minister or PM9, and when that should happen (some want to see that happen today).

There is one man who has brought on all this suffering. And that man is Anwar Ibrahim. Anwar somehow has this illusion that God created him and put him on the face of this earth for only one thing: to become Malaysia’s Prime Minister.

In fact, this is a sort of mental disorder.

Many do not realise that the damage Anwar has caused the country started long ago, back in the 1970s, even before he joined Umno.

As ABIM leader, Anwar labelled all those Malays-Muslims who work with non-Malays-non-Muslims as infidels. This was how the kafir issue first emerged and it caused a serious divide between Muslims and non-Muslims. Until today, Malaysia still has a serious divide between Muslims and non-Muslims.

The older generation Hindus from Penang are still very angry with the way Anwar handled the Muslim-Hindu crisis in Penang. They accuse Anwar of being arrogant and say he made the situation worse. And the Seafield incident in Subang is just an extension of this Hindu-Muslim problem that has been ongoing for 40 years.

Then Anwar opposed the use of the English language. He called English a colonialist language and wanted it banned and replaced entirely with Malay. Under pressure of allegations of not respecting the Malay language and of not being Malay enough, the government had no choice but to switch over from English to Malay. And that messed up Malaysia’s education system good and proper.

Anwar was riding on Mahathir since 1982 to become Prime Minister

The trouble that Anwar was causing outside Umno was too much that in 1982 Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was forced to bring him into the party so that they could put him on a tight leash and control him. If you can’t beat them, join them — or in this case, if you can’t beat him ask him to join you.

In 1987, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and Tun Musa Hitam, a.k.a. Team B, were poised to oust Mahathir and Tun Ghafar Baba and take over as PM5 and DPM respectively. Mahathir and Ghafar had more or less lost. Most of Umno Youth were in support of Team B but Anwar swung them over to Mahathir’s Team A through various means (we can talk about those details in another article because it is a long story).

Mahathir would have been Malaysia’s Prime Minister for just six years. However, because of Anwar, Mahathir stayed as PM4 for 22 years. And it was after that (after the 1987 Team A-Team B fight) when most of the damage was done (starting with the RM31.5 billion Forex disaster in 1988).

What Mahathir did was made possible because of Anwar. The damage that Mahathir caused the country was because of Anwar. And in many cases, Anwar not only hid the truth from Malaysians (the RM31.5 billion Forex disaster as one example) but he aided and abetted both Mahathir and Tun Daim Zainuddin in committing these crimes.

It was a trio, not a duo, that cost Malaysia RM200 billion

People always talk about what Mahathir and Daim did and the RM200 billion they cost Malaysia. It should be about what Mahathir, Daim AND ANWAR did and the RM200 billion they cost Malaysia.

DAP, in fact, used to say this back in the early 1990s (they even demanded Anwar’s resignation). But they stopped saying this in 1998 after Anwar was kicked out from Umno and he joined the opposition. DAP changed their mantra from “what Mahathir, Daim AND ANWAR did and the RM200 billion they cost Malaysia” to “what Mahathir and Daim did and the RM200 billion they cost Malaysia.”

Suddenly Anwar was cleansed of all his sins and was equal to Mandela, Gandhi and Mother Teresa all in one.

Anwar has triggered crisis after crisis in his lust for power and the belief that God personally chose him to become Malaysia’s Prime Minister. Anwar has been causing problems for the country since the 1970s with his radical Islam and anti-English language stance.

Anwar introduced into Umno what is now known as “money politics”

When he joined Umno, he introduced political corruption or what is being called “money politics”. He spent billions in his 16 years in Umno to buy support. And he succeeded — he made it all the way up to Deputy Prime Minister. But it cost the taxpayers billions (much in “pink forms”) and it changed Umno completely and made the rakyat hate Umno, until it was ousted from power in 2018.

There are those who blame Najib Tun Razak for Umno’s defeat in 2018. Believe it or not, Najib is a victim. He is a victim of the system he was forced to follow, the system of political patronage and money politics.

Either you follow the system or you die. And the creator of this system is Anwar Ibrahim.

Say what you want about Umno, Mahathir, Daim, Najib and so on. But do not overlook the important fact that Anwar started all this nonsense and made what happened possible. Anwar was the devil in this whole thing. (One of the artifices of Satan is to induce men to believe that he does not exist: Charles Baudelaire, 1864).

Karpal knew the real Anwar, the devil in disguise

The late Karpal Singh knew that Anwar was the devil, or one of the devils, in this whole thing when he said back in 2009 that Anwar has caused a lot of problems for the country and must repent. Yes, Mahathir and Daim may have caused a lot of damage to Malaysia but it was a trio, not a duo, in that gang of thieves.

And, today, Anwar is still causing trouble. It was Anwar who agreed for Mahathir to become PM7 in May 2018. It was Anwar who forced Mahathir to resign in February this year, causing the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government. It is Anwar who is trying to bring down the government by sabotaging Budget 2021.

The only peace Malaysia will have would be when Anwar returns to meet his Maker. Until then, expect more chaos and turmoil because, as long as there is a man named Anwar, until then Malaysia will be politically unstable.
