Pakatan wants to know whether the Agong’s decision is halal or haram

Hence, if one was haram, then both are haram. That means if the Agong was wrong in appointing Muhyiddin as PM8, then the Agong was also wrong in rejecting the declaration of an emergency.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Pakatan Harapan wants to know whether His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decision to appoint Muhyiddin Yassin as PM8 is halal or haram.

His Majesty used his discretionary powers — as allowed under the Federal Constitution of Malaysia — to appoint Muhyiddin as PM8. If, however, that is wrong by law — meaning it is haram — then His Majesty’s decision to reject the Cabinet’s request for the declaration of an emergency would also be haram.

Pakatan is opening a Pandora’s box. In both instances — the appointment of Muhyiddin as PM8 and the rejection of the Cabinet’s request for the declaration of an emergency — were done based on the discretionary powers of the Agong.

Hence, if one was haram, then both are haram. That means if the Agong was wrong in appointing Muhyiddin as PM8, then the Agong was also wrong in rejecting the declaration of an emergency.

Soalan ‘panas’ itu diajukan ketika Ahmad Marzuk Shaary (Pas-Pengkalan Chepa) sedang menjawab persoalan Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman (Pas-Kuala Krai), berhubung penggunaan logo halal.
