Yes, they tried to blow up King James 1 with gunpowder and they executed King Charles 1. In the case of Malaysia’s Agong, however, I think it is going to be Anwar Ibrahim who loses his head (metaphorically speaking) just like what happened to Guy Fawkes after the 5th November 1605 “Gunpowder Plot” failed.

Today is the 40th anniversary of my mother’s death on 5th November 1980.

My mother died nine years after my father died in 1971 (Raja Kamarudin bin Raja Sir Tun Uda: 1st July 1925 – 4th August 1971).
Taken in England around the time we sailed out to British Malaya just before Merdeka
Hence my father died age 46 while my mother died age 47. My eldest child, Raja Suraya, is also 47 years old this December, while I turned 70 in September.

Actually, 5th November is significant to the “Gunpowder Plot” of 415 years ago (on 5th November 1605) when the Catholics tried to assassinate King James 1. Hence the chant: “Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot.”
Not long after that, in 1649, King Charles 1 was executed for giving too much face to the Catholics (the Queen was Catholic) plus for suspending Parliament after the MPs vetoed or rejected England’s Budget 1630.
So, 391 years ago, Parliament blocked King Charles’ Budget 1630 and today the same thing is being planned by Pakatan Harapan regarding the Agong’s Budget 2021. And the King responded by dissolving Parliament and by ruling England thereafter through “Personal Rule.”
Let’s see how the plot against the Agong is going to end
So, let’s see what the Agong is going to do if Pakatan Harapan blocks Budget 2021. If the Agong has the legal right to reject the declaration of an emergency, then the Agong also has the legal right to declare an emergency.
When Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigned as PM7 in February this year, he was hoping to come back as PM8 and run Malaysia through “Personal Rule”, just like what King Charles 1 did. His Majesty the Agong, however, rejected this and appointed Muhyiddin Yassin as PM8 instead.
