PAS calls off audience with Perak Sultan

(FMT) – PAS has called off their assemblymen’s audience with Perak Sultan, Sultan Nazrin Shah, at Istana Kinta today.

Bernama quoted the state chapter’s commissioner Razman Zakaria as saying that this followed a directive from the party’s central leadership.

Sultan Nazrin was supposed to hold an audience with all PAS and PPBM assemblymen at 3pm today to prove their support for Umno’s candidate for the menteri besar and to form the new government.

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Kota Tampan assemblyman Saarani Mohamad had an audience with the sultan earlier this morning, with the former claiming that the party’s menteri besar candidate had sufficient support to form the new government.

He claimed PAS and PPBM had agreed to back Umno’s candidate as the menteri besar and form the government, although he declined to reveal the name of the nominee.

Razman had earlier said Perak PAS will wait for the green light from the party’s central leadership before throwing its support behind Umno’s candidate for the menteri besar’s post.
