Prominent blogger Zakhir Mohammed aka ‘Big Dog’ passes away

(The Star) – Prominent blogger and political observer Zakhir Mohammed, also known as the blogger “Big Dog”, passed away on Sunday (Dec 27) morning. He was 53.

Zakhir, who was Petra News editor, collapsed at home and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, said Datuk Ahiruddin Attan, executive editor at Petra News, the publisher of TheVibes news portal.

The portal reported that medical personnel failed to revive him.

“We have lost one of our own. Big Dog Zakhir breathed his last this morning after suddenly collapsing, ” Petra Group chairman and chief executive officer, Datuk Dr Vinod Sekhar said.

Zakhir, who leaves behind a wife and a daughter, will be buried at the Bukit Kiara cemetery after Asar (afternoon) prayers on Sunday.
