Kit Siang’s wish is to see a Malaysian Malaysia
Malays had better understand what DAP’s “perjuangan” is and what a “world-class nation” according to DAP’s interpretation is. If Malays cannot understand a simple thing like this, then they deserve to be reduced to “hamba di negara sendiri”. And if the 22 months of Pakatan Harapan rule is not proof enough, then pergi mampuslah Melayu.
NO HOLDS BARRED

One of the quarrels between Tunku Abdul Rahman and Lee Kuan Yew was regarding PAP’s “Malaysian Malaysia” doctrine, which was opposed to Umno’s “Ketuanan Melayu” concept.
PAP wanted Malays, Chinese, Indians and “others” to have equal status and that there should be no special privileges (or rights) for the Malays. Further to that, Kuan Yew wanted to be the Prime Minister of Singapore, not merely a Chief Minister like in Penang, Melaka, Sabah and Sarawak.
The Tunku disagreed and said if Kuan Yew wants to be the Prime Minister of Singapore and if PAP wanted to abolish the special privileges for the Malays, then Singapore can leave Malaysia and as an independent nation it can do what it likes.
That was why Singapore and Malaysia separated.
But PAP did not want to end its “perjuangan”. Kuan Yew sent Devan Nair (who later became the President of Singapore) and his aid, Lim Kit Siang, to Malaysia to start DAP.
That was 56 years ago. And, today, Kit Siang reveals that PAP’s “perjuangan” (which is also DAP’s “perjuangan”) of a “Malaysian Malaysia” and to end the special privileges for the Malays still continues and has not been abandoned.
Kit Siang said he hopes that one day Malaysia will become a world-class nation (meaning a Malaysian Malaysia with no special privileges for the Malays). In other worlds, because Malaysia is a country that has special privileges for the Malays, it is a failed state or pariah nation.

On 80th birthday, Kit Siang expresses hopes of one day seeing country becoming a world-class nation; a Malaysia for Malaysians
(MMO) – As his 80th birthday wish, veteran politician Lim Kit Siang expressed his desire to see Malaysia develop towards being a world-class nation, and a country for all Malaysians regardless of race, religion, creed.
The DAP lawmaker revealed how he has held on to these hopes of a Malaysia for Malaysians since his early schooling days, and all the way throughout the last 55 years he has spent in the Democratic Action Party (DAP).
“Let us renew our dream that while Malaysians will have multiple identities — ethnic, religious, linguistic, cultural — they have one common overriding identity as Malaysians.
“Nobody is asking any Malaysian to forget that he or she is a Malay, Chinese, Indian, Kadazan, Iban, or Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, (or) Taoist, but everyone is first and foremost a Malaysian.
“That is my dream. That is your dream,” he said in a statement today.
The Iskandar Puteri MP said despite the country having gone through dark patches in history like the May 13 riots in 1969, Malaysians must continue to unite to create a better Malaysia for the coming generations to thrive in.
“But we must never allow the past to bury the future. If necessary, the future must bury the past to build better lives for future generations,” he added.
