Ku Li’s politics of ‘stealing the ball’
The irony of this whole thing is Ku Li tried to sabotage Najib, first by working with Mahathir, and then by working with Muhyiddin. When that failed, he tried to sabotage Najib by linking Rosmah to Altantuya’s murder. In 2015, he worked with Mahathir, again, to try to sabotage Najib using the 1MDB issue. And, now, Ku Li is back working with Najib to try to bring down Muhyiddin, hoping that he will be able to take over as prime minister or PM9.
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah a.k.a. Ku Li’s style of politics is the strategy of ‘stealing the ball’. This means he will wait at the opponent’s goalpost and when the ball comes near he will ‘steal’ it and kick it into the goal.
That way he does not need to work too hard. He also does not need to take any risks. He sits and waits to be served, like a typical anak raja.
In 2006, when Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi a.k.a. Pak Lah came under attack from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (which was launched in June 2006), Ku Li went to meet Mahathir to propose a deal.
Mahathir and Ku Li basically agreed that they will combine forces, and once Pak Lah is ousted, Ku Li will take over the post of Prime Minister or PM6 and Mukhriz would be groomed and positioned to take over as the future prime minister, possibly PM8 or thereabouts.
Then Ku Li found out that, simultaneously, Mahathir was also making a deal with Najib Tun Razak. In case Plan A failed, meaning Ku Li reneges on the deal involving Mukhriz, then Mahathir will launch Plan B instead.
When Ku Li realised that Mahathir was not going to make him prime minister after all, Ku Li contacted Muhyiddin Yassin and proposed a deal. Ku Li agreed for Muhyiddin to be the deputy prime minister if he (Muhyiddin) supports him (Ku Li) as prime minister or PM6.
But Najib was sharper. Najib agreed for Muhyiddin to become the deputy prime minister once he (Najib) becomes the prime minister, plus they will get Mahathir’s support as a bonus.
When Ku Li realised that Team Mahathir now included Najib and Muhyiddin (and excluded him), Ku Li tried to sabotage Najib. If Najib can be sabotaged, then Muhyiddin will be forced to come back to him (Ku Li) to make a deal (Muhyiddin as DPM and Ku Li as PM6).
That was when the plan to link Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, to Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder was mooted. And I was the person tasked with the job of signing that Statutory Declaration in June 2008 alleging that Rosmah was at the scene of the crime the night Altantuya was murdered.
Now that is what I would call a super-frog, in case you did not know what one looks like.

Don’t wait for AGM, cut ties with PPBM now, says Ku Li
Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah says Umno is duty-bound to follow the wishes of the 147 divisions and cut ties with PPBM.
(FMT) – Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has urged the Umno Supreme Council to call for an emergency meeting and cut ties with PPBM, ahead of the party’s annual general assembly.
The party had been scheduled to discuss severing ties with PPBM in January but the AGM was postponed following a spike in Covid-19 cases and the declaration of emergency.
Prior to that, 147 of the 191 Umno divisions had called for the party to withdraw its cooperation with PPBM. The Umno Supreme Council then said the party would make its decision at the AGM.
In a statement today, Ku Li said the Supreme Council members are compelled to follow the wishes of the 147 divisions.
“They have to vote to reject Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s leadership as the prime minister and head of the Perikatan Nasional government.”
He said the Umno Supreme Council must ask all Barisan Nasional MPs to also reject Muhyiddin’s leadership before Parliament convenes.
A decision at the AGM to withdraw support for PPBM will almost certainly lead to the collapse of the PN government.
