Mahathir saved Malaysia by blocking Anwar from becoming PM8 in February 2020

Dr Mahathir should be thanked for making sure that Muhyiddin instead of Anwar became PM8. No doubt they talk about minority government, backdoor prime minister, and all that nonsense. That is just a smokescreen to give an impression that their opposition to Muhyiddin and Perikatan Nasional is sincere and noble. The truth is, Dr Mahathir saved Malaysia from a major disaster by blocking Anwar from taking over as PM8.

NO HOLDS BARRED

There appears to be a hot debate and rebuttals regarding Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad’s “revelation” that Anwar Ibrahim was, in fact, invited to join the “Sheraton Move” cartel and that he refused to do so — and that if Anwar had agreed to join the “Sheraton Move” cartel then he, instead of Muhyiddin Yassin, would have become the prime minister or PM8 on 1st March 2020.

Lim Kit Siang almost fell of his chair when he heard this — while Anwar, as usual, just kept quiet and said nothing. This is Anwar’s normal style. He will let his people spin fake news while he will pretend that he did not hear anything, knows nothing, or is not involved in the spreading of this fake news.

Ringkas cerita, Anwar ni kaki auta.

Dr Mahathir saved Malaysia by blocking Anwar from taking over as PM8

The real story is: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigned as the prime minister in February 2020 because PKR and DAP were pressuring him to resign immediately and hand power to Anwar. Initially, Dr Mahathir was supposed to retire in May 2020. But Anwar could not wait till May and he wanted Dr Mahathir out in February.

That would mean in February 2020 Anwar would have become the prime minister.

On 21st February 2020, Pakatan Harapan had a meeting to pressure Dr Mahathir to resign and to immediately hand power to Anwar.

On 23rd February 2020, the “Sheraton Move” was held. Basically, this was to ensure that Anwar would not take over as PM8.

On 24th February 2020, Anwar and the PKR, DAP and Amanah leaders met Mahathir at his home and tried to convince him to not resign (as this would mean Anwar would not be able to take over as PM8). That same afternoon, Mahathir sent in his resignation letter to Seri Paduka Yang di-Pertuan Agong and within a week Muhyiddin Yassin was sworn in as PM8.

Hence Dr Mahathir did Malaysia a huge favour, probably the best thing Mahathir had ever done in 50 years. By resigning, instead of retiring and handing power to Anwar, Dr Mahathir ensured that Muhyiddin Yassin instead of Anwar became the prime minister.

In short, Dr Mahathir saved Malaysia. If Anwar had taken over as PM8, as what PKR and DAP wanted on 21st February 2020, Malaysia would have been doomed. If you think 22 years of Mahathir as PM4 was a disaster, Anwar as PM8 would have been a doomsday scenario.

The truth is, Dr Mahathir saved Malaysia from a major disaster of Anwar taking over as PM8.
