Why did Umno join the government on 1st March 2020 and why is Umno still in the government?

All those reasons as to why Umno must not, cannot, and should not be friends with PPBM or should not be in the Perikatan Nasional coalition are noted. What is most puzzling is why did Umno join the government on 1st March 2020 and why is Umno still in the government?

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Okay, we hear you. In fact, we have been hearing the so many sungutan from so many people, some who are not even Umno members, about why Umno must not, cannot, and should not be friends with Parti Pribumi Bersatu (PPBM) or should not be in the Perikatan Nasional coalition.

There are many reasons being cited (some which are arguments being touted by Pakatan Harapan).

Perikatan Nasional is an illegal government.

Muhyiddin Yassin is a backdoor Prime Minister.

Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong was wrong in appointing Muhyiddin as the prime minister.

Muhyiddin did not have the numbers (minimum required number is 112) — or, if he did have the numbers on 1st March 2020, today he no longer has those numbers.

Umno is the latest party because it has the largest number of parliament seats — and the party with the largest number of seats should lead the government and become the prime minister.

PPBM stole MPs from other parties to boost its numbers.

PPBM, the small party, is bullying Umno, the bigger party.

Umno is older than PPBM.

Umno has more members than PPBM.

Why did Umno join the government on 1st March 2020 and why is Umno still in the government?

Okay, we hear you. Those are strong reasons. But the more important question, and the issue we should be discussing is: why in the first place did Umno join the government on 1st March 2020? And if Umno did not know all this on 1st March 2020, but only found out later, why is Umno still in the government?

All those reasons as to why Umno must not, cannot, and should not be friends with PPBM or should not be in the Perikatan Nasional coalition are noted. What is most puzzling is why did Umno join the government on 1st March 2020 and why is Umno still in the government?

Am I the only smart Malaysian amongst 32 million Malaysians who sees this weird state of affairs in what appears to be the 8th Wonder of the World?

Don’t let ‘third party’ split us, Umno Youth tells PAS

(FMT) – Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has told PAS, its fellow party in Muafakat Nasional (MN), not to allow a “third party” to break the alliance, in an apparent dig at PPBM.

In launching the youth wing’s assembly, which was also attended by PAS Youth chief Khairil Nizam Khiruddin, Asyraf described MN as a “most beautiful dream” fantasised by many for years.

“To PAS, our comrades and friends in MN, hold fast to our ties in MN. Don’t let it break or be broken by a third party because we don’t know when an opportunity like this will come again,” he said at PWTC here today.

He urged the leadership of both parties in MN to cooperate and negotiate without resorting to any tricks, calling for sincerity and honesty in its alliance.

“Who would have thought that the two biggest Malay-Muslim parties, who had been enemies for 40 years, would jointly seal the agenda to unite the ummah here at PWTC (about two years ago) under the MN charter?

“But who would have thought that, even before our tears had dried, our new love that had just bloomed would have to be shared with a third party?

“With a heavy heart, we conceded with our friend’s choice,” he said, referring to PAS’ decision to be a part of the Perikatan Nasional coalition.

Citing party deputy president Mohamad Hasan’s speech earlier, Asyraf said Umno needed to differentiate between the party’s real friends and enemies.

PAS has yet to decide on breaking ties with either PPBM (under PN) or Umno (under MN), saying instead that it would continue to strengthen its relationship with Umno while reinforcing PN.
