“Kerajaan Gagal” is a brilliant campaign
Hence that is why PPBM wanted PAS, the most successful party in Malaysia. PAS is a winner. PAS did NOT lose the general election. Barisan Nasional, however, lost. And PPBM also won GE14. So PAS the winner joined PPBM the winner to form the new government when DAP and PKR collapsed the old Pakatan Harapan government. Now tell me one thing, am I the only intelligent Malaysian out of 32 million Malaysians who can see this?
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Whoever came out with the “Kerajaan Gagal” campaign should be commended because it is a brilliant campaign.
Success and failure are subjective, and it depends on what criteria you use to measure success and failure. There is no standard yardstick which you can use to measure success and failure and it is influenced by your perception of what is success and what is failure.
Hence it is a game of perception and is guided by your value system plus open to interpretation. In such a game, it is all in your mind and opinions would differ from one person to another.
When the anti-government people say Kerajaan Perikatan Nasional is a “Kerajaan Gagal” they do not need to explain why and how it is “Kerajaan Gagal”. They raise so-called “examples” regarding how badly the government is handling the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic and the vaccination program.
Then, how should it have been handled? Give an example of a country that is doing fantastic and has achieved zero Covid-19 infections and deaths and 100% vaccinations? None!
Some countries may be doing better than other countries, but to a large extent it is because of the obedience and discipline of the people. Countries where the people are not obedient and not disciplined do worse than other countries.
So, is it the government that gagal or the rakyat that gagal?
In the past, a farmer who managed to send all five of his children to university would be seen as a success, even though he is poor and his five children went to university on a government scholarship because they were star students.
Today, you would be seen as a success only if you live in a multi-million-ringgit home in a gated-community, have five kereta mewah, fly to UK for the summer holidays to shop, and fly to Switzerland during Christmas to ski.
As I said, success and failure are subjective and are open to interpretation and is mere perception. Hence the “Kerajaan Gagal” campaign is brilliant because it is all in the mind and depends on how you look at things.
Society is actually very strange. A woman who sleeps around is a perempuan sundal while a man who sleeps around is macho. Hence success and failure are also subject to the same prejudices.
DAP is screaming “rakyat susah” and is asking the government to give more handouts and grant a moratorium on loan repayments. But online sales are up. Food takeaways are up. Car sales are up. Read what https://paultan.org/ says:
“The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has released vehicle sales date for the month of May 2021. It announced earlier today that a total of 46,663 vehicles were delivered last month, which is 11,249 units (or 19.4%) less than the 57,912 units sold in April.
Nonetheless, last month’s total was nearly double that of the corresponding month in 2020, when 23,366 units were shifted, making for an improvement of 23,297 units (99.7%) this year. As for year-to-date numbers, the 245,932 units managed in the first five months of the year is 117,142 units (90.9%) more than the 128,790 units that were recorded in the same period last year.”
“Kerajaan Gagal”, they say. But then certain businesses are going through the roof. As I said, it all depends on your interpretation and what yardstick you use to measure success and failure. A farmer is gagal when five of his children go to university but a millionaire berjaya because he got rich through his political connections.
The anti-government people love playing this perception game. Last year they called the Perikatan Nasional government a “Backdoor Government” that, kononnya, is bullying Barisan Nasional.
The Perikatan Nasional government is led by PPBM and PPBM ensured that Pakatan Harapan won the general election in May 2018. Without PPBM, Pakatan Harapan would not have won GE14.
Barisan Nasional, however, lost the general election. So it is Barisan Nasional that is the one who came in through the “Pintu Belakang”, not PPBM. PPBM came in through the front door in May 2018 during GE14.
PAS was not in Pakatan Harapan or Barisan Nasional. So PAS did NOT lose the general election. In fact, under the circumstances, PAS did quite well in GE14. And when PPBM invited PAS to participate in the government based on “perpaduan ummah”, they accepted. What is wrong with that?
PAS was NOT kicked out in GE14. In fact, PAS won the same number of votes as PKR and DAP did. Yes, PAS, PKR and DAP won the same number of votes and just 25% votes less than Umno won. PAS won far more votes than MCA, MIC, Gerakan, and all the Sabah and Sarawak parties.
Umno was number one in votes and PAS tied with PKR and DAP for number two. And everyone else was not even 50% of PAS. In that sense PAS can be said to be THE MOST SUCCESSFUL INDEPENDENT POLITICAL PARTY IN MALAYSIA.
