Perikatan Nasional made just ONE blunder: it bowed to opposition pressure

The problem is, the Perikatan Nasional government is too sensitive to public opinion. And the opposition is an expert at whipping up sentiments and public opinion. So the opposition kept moving the goalposts and the Perikatan Nasional government fell for it.

NO HOLDS BARRED

“7 fatal blunders of the PN govt – by Najib,” said Free Malaysia Today (READ HERE).

Actually, the Perikatan Nasional government made just ONE blunder. The ONE blunder the Perikatan Nasional government made was that it kept changing its policy in response to the pressure from the opposition (both the opposition in Umno and Pakatan Harapan).

The Perikatan Nasional government fell into the opposition trap. For example, the opposition insisted that the Sabah State Assembly be dissolved to make way for fresh state elections. And when the Perikatan Nasional government gave in and did what the opposition wanted, the Covid-19 infection figures went up.

The Perikatan Nasional government should have just forgotten about the Sabah State Assembly elections and take over the state via SDs like what the Barisan Nasional government did in Perak back in 2009.

No Sabah State Assembly, no Covid-19. Now the Perikatan Nasional government is being blamed for what the opposition did.

The Perikatan Nasional government was also worried that if they locked up all the foreign workers, the mainly Chinese-owned SMIs and SMEs will get angry and will not support the government. So the government relaxed the quarantine rules just to please the Chinese businessmen.

And that was a mistake, as Najib Razak pointed out, because this made the Covid-19 problem worse, and the Chinese are never going to support the government anyway, never mind what you do for them.

The Perikatan Nasional government should have done what China did. Just curfew the entire area and station the army around the lockdown area. And if anyone tries to sneak out, just shoot them for violating the curfew.

The problem is, the Perikatan Nasional government is too sensitive to public opinion. And the opposition is an expert at whipping up sentiments and public opinion. So the opposition kept moving the goalposts and the Perikatan Nasional government fell for it.

We hear anti-government people calling the Perikatan Nasional government murderers and they get so jittery and keep coming out with new policies to please the people. The Perikatan Nasional government should just come out with a tough policy and do not budge from it whatever they say. After all, whatever you do or do not do, they are still going to attack you anyway.
