Bersatu, PAS, Gerakan to represent PN in Melaka polls
Perikatan Nasional (PN) will field candidates from Bersatu, PAS and Gerakan in the upcoming Melaka state election, the coalition confirmed tonight.
(FMT) – In a statement, PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin also confirmed that all three parties will contest under the PN logo.
“Seat negotiations will be finalised. All PN components will mobilise their election machinery to win the trust of the people of Melaka and achieve victory in the state election.”
Muhyiddin had previously said that PN would contest all 28 seats at the Nov 20 elections, after Umno confirmed that it would not be working with Bersatu.
He then urged all PN parties to decide on seat allocation immediately and to divide the 28 state seats “according to the situation” to win the state polls.
PN’s move to contest all seats will likely result in clashes with Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan in most, if not all seats.
