Pakatan Harapan bohong! Malaysia DOES NOT allow civil liberty and freedom
Pakatan Harapan is not being honest with Malaysians. Malaysia does not allow civil liberty and freedom. And democracy merely means electing a government of your choice through an election. Democracy does not mean you also have civil liberty and freedom. And Pakatan Harapan will not allow you more civil liberty and freedom even if they are the government.
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Mat Sabu, Khalid Samad, and all those other Pakatan Harapan leaders who talk so much, are lying.
They tell us they are trying to propagate or restore democracy. That is utter nonsense. They are doing no such thing. All they want is to get into power, whether by the front door or the backdoor never mind.
They talk about kembalikan mandat rakyat. What does ‘mandat rakyat’ mean and how do you ‘kembalikan’ it?
They know Malaysians do not understand what ‘mandat rakyat’ means. So they talk about how the ‘mandat rakyat’ has been ‘lost’ or ‘stolen’ and the need to ‘kembalikan mandat rakyat’ or ‘restore the rakyat’s mandate’.
That is Anwar’s forte: using big words or complicated concepts that people do not understand. That is the mark of a conman and Anwar is a conman extraordinaire. He has been conning people ever since back in the 1970s when he ‘revealed’ that farmers in Baling are so poor they are dying of starvation by the scores.
That was an utter lie. Nobody dies of starvation in Malaysia, whether farmers, fishermen, plantation workers or whatever.
Pakatan Harapan accuses the government not only of being undemocratic (or of not respecting democracy) but also of not respecting human rights, civil liberties, and the various freedoms (such as freedom of association, speech, choice, thought, worship, and many more).
That, of course, is partly true — and that was why I decided to launch the Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement (MCLM) in 2010 after Zaid Ibrahim’s Malaysian Civil Liberties Society (MCLS) failed to get government approval (Marina Mahathir and many more were also behind the MCLS).
Unfortunately, PKR, DAP and PAS did not support the MLCM (Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Guan Eng and Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad personally said so). Hence MCLM was shot down before it could even take off. Why did PKR, DAP and PAS not support the MCLM if Malaysia is in dire need of more freedoms and liberties?
It is clear Pakatan Harapan only talks but does nothing. And when we make an effort to do something, they do not support that effort.
Okay, Pakatan Harapan was in power for 22 months. What did they do in those 22 months to grant Malaysians more liberties and freedoms? Did they do anything to improve the situation?
Let me state one fact. Malaysia DOES NOT allow civil liberties and the various freedoms. And both the government as well as the opposition will not allow Malaysians more civil liberties and freedom. So it is not just the government that does not allow Malaysian more civil liberties and freedoms but the opposition as well.
Hence it does not matter whether Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Harapan is in power. None of them are going to allow Malaysians more civil liberties and freedom. And if Pakatan Harapan (or PKR, DAP and Amanah) tell you they want to give Malaysians more civil liberties and freedom, they are conning you.
For example, a Malay cannot become an atheist, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, etc., or become a Shia Muslim. By law, it is mandatory for Malays to be Sunni Muslims. What if you do not believe in God, or you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? If you are a Malay, you do not have freedom of thought, freedom of choice, or freedom of religion.
Is that not denying someone his civil liberty and freedom? Of course it is, but that is the law even if it denies you your liberty and freedom.
There are so many more rules, regulations, and laws they deny Malaysians their civil liberties and freedoms. And Pakatan Harapan also will not do anything about this even when they are in power.
Lately we have seen the ‘man dressed as a woman’ and naming a whiskey ‘Timah’ or ‘Tin’ controversy erupt. So now, before you choose a brand name, you first need government approval. And men cannot wear dresses although women can wear pants.
What about your liberties and freedoms? You do not have any. Liberties and freedoms are not allowed in Malaysia whether under a Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional or Perikatan Nasional government. So do not allow politicians to lie to you and cheat you.
Let me use one example. Say I utter a statement saying that I reject the Holy Books (Old Testament, New Testament and Qur’an) because there is no evidence that all these so-called ‘Holy Books’ came from God. In fact, there is also no evidence that God even exists.
Under the concept of civil liberties and freedom of speech, choice, thought, worship, etc., this statement should not even attract any attention. However, instead, this is going to create waves, police reports will be made, and the authorities and politicians will condemn this statement.
Oh, by the way, democracy, liberty, and freedom mean you are allowed to leave one political party and join another political party even if that results in the collapse of the government. And democracy, liberty, and freedom mean it is not wrong to bring down the government and replace it with another government, whether Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Liberal, Communist, Islamic or whatever. Why do Malaysians not understand this?
