Certain people in Umno want Najib in jail
So, even if they need to spare Zeti, Shamsiah and Abd Rahman, they will do so just so that Najib does not get to come back as the Umno President and Prime Minister. This is not about justice and making sure that criminals such as Zeti, Shamsiah and Abd Rahman get punished for their crimes. It is about preventing Najib from coming back as the Umno President and Prime Minister.

The case against the two Bank Negara Governors, Zeti Akhtar Abdul Aziz and Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus, is overwhelming. And MACC has recommended that action be taken against them.
This was what the report from the MACC to the AGC said:
Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus and Abd Rahman Abu Bakar should be asked to immediately relinquish their positions as Governor and Assistant Gabenor of Bank Negara respectively in order to protect the central bank’s image and reputation brought on by the negative perception due to the allegations.
If Shamsiah and Abd Rahman refuse to relinquish their positions, the Government has to immediately initiate investigation on these allegations. Revelations by MACC and Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) can be used to initiate investigations on Shamsiah and Abd Rahman.
a) To ensure smooth investigation, Shamsiah and Abd Rahman must go on garden leave or be suspended from office with immediate effect for a period of 6 months – a period deemed necessary and reasonable to enable thorough investigation be conducted on the allegations;
b) If the investigation proves that Shamsiah and Abd Rahman had deliberately suppressed information to protect Zeti’s family:
• The Prime Minister should terminate Shamsiah’s contract as BNM Governor and take actions against those associated or involved in the conspiracy.
• Shamsiah and Abd Rahman should be charged in court for abetting crime.
This recommendation above from the MACC is very clear and indisputable. But nothing is being done. Why? And by who?
Shafee can use this new evidence in Najib’s SRC appeal and 1MDB trial
The why is simple. Najib Tun Razak wants to come back as the Umno President and Prime Minister of Malaysia. So, he is a threat to certain people within Umno. Hence, if the recommendations above are followed, and action is taken against Zeti, Shamsiah and Abd Rahman, Najib’s lawyer, Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, will use this in Najib’s SRC appeal and the 1MDB trial.
Today, Najib lodged a police report regarding this matter. Shafee will be raising this in court and may file for a mistrial because material evidence had been hidden, and hence Najib was denied a fair trial.

PDRM, MACC and the AGC knew about all this information back in 2015. But when Najib was arrested and charged, they hid the information regarding Zeti’s husband receiving millions from Jho Low.
Not only was the old Barisan Nasional government aware of this back in 2015, but the new Pakatan Harapan government of 2018-2020 knew about it as well. And PDRM, MACC, plus then Attorney-General Tommy Thomas, all confirmed this.
In 2015, the Singapore Police informed PDRM about Zeti’s husband, Tawfiq Ayman, receiving millions from Jho Low. On top of that, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Singapore’s equivalent of BNM, contacted Abd Rahman, the Director of the FIU, to inform him of a sum of money that was received by Tawfiq Ayman.
In 2015, the Director of the FIU in BNM was Abd Rahman Abu Bakar while BNM’s Deputy Governor, Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus, was in charge of the FIU.
That is all now well-documented, and the MACC wants action to be taken against all these people. But somehow nothing is being done. And, according to certain sources within Umno, they are worried that if action is taken now this may work in Najib’s favour. Najib may be able to use this to his advantage and file for a mistrial on grounds that crucial evidence that can aid in his defence was suppressed.
The issue is: they need to ensure that Najib loses his SRC appeal and the 1MDB trial. If he wins, then he is going to come back as Umno President and Prime Minister. This is no secret and even down to the Umno cawangan level they know this is what Najib intends to do.
So, even if they need to spare Zeti, Shamsiah and Abd Rahman, they will do so just so that Najib does not get to come back as the Umno President and Prime Minister. So, the million-dollar question is: who are those people within Umno who want Najib in jail so that he does not come back as the Umno President and Prime Minister, which is the reason they do not want to take action against Zeti, Shamsiah and Abd Rahman?
