Finally Mahathir reveals the truth
Hadi knows that Umno President Zahid Hamidi is collaborating with Anwar, who in turn is DAP’s stooge. Hence, abandoning Bersatu and going to bed exclusively with Umno will strengthen the Zahid-Anwar alliance, and in turn strengthen Pakatan Harapan. In short, by weakening Perikatan Nasional, PAS will be strengthening Pakatan Harapan. That is all there is to it.

After ‘working’ for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for more than 30 years since the mid-1980s, one can almost read what is in his mind. As what my ‘mentor’ Pak Wan — Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s father (and hence Anwar Ibrahim’s father-in-law) — once told me, to ‘read’ Dr Mahathir, do not listen to what he says, observe what he does.
Sometimes, you also need to note what Dr Mahathir does not say, not what he says. What he does not say is more telling than what he says.
Anyway, what Dr Mahathir has revealed over the last few days more or less confirms what I have been saying over the last six years since 2015. Of course, many thought I was just spinning. However, as I have always said, it may take ten years, or it may take longer, but in the end what I say gets proven.
Not in order of priority, this is what I had said:
Najib Tun Razak wanted Muhyiddin Yassin to intervene in his SRC International and 1MDB court cases, plus in the court cases involving Rosmah Mansor, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and a couple of other people. Muhyiddin, however, refused. He wanted to allow the judiciary the freedom to do what is right.
Because of that, the group that is now known as the ‘Court Cluster’ made their move to oust Muhyiddin. If Muhyiddin had ‘played ball’, they would have left him alone and he would be able to remain as prime minister until GE15.
And that is the reason why the ‘Court Cluster’ group is boycotting Perikatan Nasional and gave PAS an ultimatum that if they are with Bersatu then they cannot be with Umno. PAS must choose between Bersatu and Umno. PAS cannot be in bed with both Bersatu and Umno at the same time.
Umno knows that a three-corner fight with Perikatan Nasional (Bersatu and PAS) and Pakatan Harapan is very risky. So Umno wants Perikatan Nasional or the Bersatu-PAS coalition to break up. That would be safer for Barisan Nasional. Furthermore, for not interfering in the court cases, Umno does not want to go to bed with Bersatu.
Now Dr Mahathir has confirmed that the Umno-Bersatu rift is mainly because Muhyiddin refused to drop the court cases against Najib, Rosmah, Zahid, etc.
I also said the Pakatan Harapan-Dr Mahathir collaboration in GE14 was mainly because they wanted to oust Umno-Barisan Nasional. Pakatan Harapan was using Dr Mahathir and Dr Mahathir, in turn, was using Pakatan Harapan.
There is no love or trust between Pakatan Harapan and Dr Mahathir. And once they succeed in ousting Umno-Barisan Nasional, they will turn on each other. The example I used was the situation in Afghanistan where the many tribes unite against a common enemy but will kill each other when there is no common enemy.
Today, Dr Mahathir (and Tony Puah) revealed that was so.
And I also said this was why Dr Mahathir resigned in February 2020. Basically, he wanted DAP out of the government and the only way that can happen is to bring down the government.
As for why PAS — or in particular Tok Guru Abdul Hadi Awang — refusing to abandon Bersatu and go exclusively with Umno, this is all about Anwar Ibrahim and DAP.
