Warisan launches peninsular chapter, says Shafie will be ‘PM for all’

Sabah-based Warisan launched its peninsular chapter today, with party president Shafie Apdal as the prime minister candidate, stating he “will be the prime minister for all”.

(FMT) – In his message, Shafie said the nation’s strength “not only lies on the height of skyscrapers, the might of the army or the size of our economy, but essentially in our diversity”.

He said Malaysia’s diversity ranged from its various religions and ethnic groups to food, clothing and traditions.

In his speech at the Sime Darby Convention Centre here, he said Warisan was setting a path to unite all Malaysians and would be inclusive and multiracial.

“We cannot wait for tomorrow, next week or next year, we need to start today,” he said.
