Hold a referendum to decide Malaysia’s Islamic-Secular status
Once the referendum is held and the mandat rakyat is obtained, this matter needs no longer be argued. The people have decided and the mandat rakyat is settled. And Malaysia is a secular country, or an Islamic country, whichever the referendum decides.
NO HOLDS BARRED

When Australians were divided about whether the Queen of England should also be regarded as the Queen of Australia, a referendum was held to decide the matter. They did the same thing when the Scots were divided about whether Scotland should still be part of the United Kingdom — they held a referendum.
Malaysia should also hold a referendum to settle the 60-year-old argument about whether Malaysia is an Islamic country or a secular country. After all, Umno and Pakatan Harapan keep talking about mandat rakyat. So hold that referendum and get the mandat rakyat about Malaysia’s status.
