Is Zahid’s sumpah laknat of any value?
The so-called swearing of the oath or sumpah laknat is not worth anything. It has as much value as dog poo stuck at the bottom of your shoe. A person car swear ten times and I would still not accept that oath. This is because most Muslims are not true to their word and an oath is merely sedap mulut saja and Islam is merely perhiasan.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he was prepared to take a sumpah laknat to refute Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin’s claim that the Umno president had visited his home with piles of files to appeal for his help in dropping his criminal cases.
“I had never visited Muhyiddin when he was the prime minister to ask his help to have my court cases dropped. What more bringing piles of files and asking to be let off as claimed. Show proof of the truth. I am prepared to take a sumpah laknat to deny Muhyiddin’s ill allegations against me. I want to ask if he is prepared to do the same. Take the sumpah laknat to back up his allegation against me.” (Malaysiakini).
First of all, non-Muslims do not care two hoots about your sumpah laknat. If a Hindu goes to a temple to swear an oath, would Muslims consider that 100% proof he is innocent? What about if a Christian swears in the name of Mother Mary? Is that acceptable as proof of innocence?
Anwar Ibrahim refused to sumpah laknat that he is innocent of the allegations of sodomy on the excuse there is no such thing in Islam. If so, then why is Anwar’s ‘student’ offering to sumpah laknat since this is a pagan ritual and not Islamic?
Anyway, if Anwar had sumpah laknat, would the judge have acquitted him of the charges of sodomy or would the judge have still found him guilty? Would the sumpah laknat not prove that Anwar is innocent and hence should be acquitted?
And most important of all, every single wakil rakyat (about 800 MPs and DUNs) swear an oath of office. But they still break their oath and violate the trust the rakyat placed in them.
The more than one million civil servants and armed forces/police personal also swear an oath. But they still break their oath and commit all sorts of transgressions and violations.
