Malays suffer from self-inflicted wounds

They say Ismail Sabri is not smart enough to be prime minister. I doubt that. However, even if it is true, all the so-called smart people have proven toxic for Malaysia. So kalau not smart enough, biarlah. What we want is sincerity and honesty rather than, kononnya, a smart PM who gadai masa depan Melayu dan Malaysia.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

“Verily, Allah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change their state themselves” [Quran: al-Ra’d 13:11]

Malays would like to believe they are the best Muslims in the world. I have heard Malays say that Malays are even better Muslims than the sesat (deviant) Arabs.

I normally reply to that statement by saying luckily Allah sent Islam to the Arabs — who are degil, garang, sombong, kaki gaduh, etc. Hence the fierce desert nomads spread Islam all over the world at sword-point. If Islam was sent to the Malays instead, they would cross the border into Thailand, and instead of converting the Thais to Islam, the Malays would return to Malaysia as Buddhists.

Anyway, the point is, as much as Malays might think they are the best Muslims in the world, they seem to ignore the teachings of the Qur’an. And the Qur’an says whatever ailments you may suffer from are self-inflicted wounds.

Malays will blame the Chinese, Indians, British, Americans, Jews, Umno, PAS, DAP, PKR, Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Muafakat Nasional, Perikatan Nasional, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Muhyiddin Yassin, and millions of others for the problems they are facing. It is always someone else to blame. Never the Malays themselves who are to blame.

But then the Qur’an says it very clearly: whatever problems you are facing are self-inflicted wounds. You will not suffer anything unless you do it to yourself. So why keep blaming every man and his dog for your problems?

Inilah Melayu! Islam dah ajar tapi tak mahu ikut ajaran Islam. Tapi kalau cakap tentang Islam, berapi-api dan berbuih mulut.

PAS has already set the platform for Malay unity. But the Malays prefer to divide into ten different political groupings and fight one another. And new political groupings are being formed even as your read this. Finally, Malays will have 20 different parties to vote for.

Listen to people like Lokman Noor Adam and Isham Jalil, Najib Tun Razak’s chief spin-doctors. Every day they attack fellow Malays and propagate disunity rather than unity. They don’t care that the Chinese and others are very united under DAP and Pakatan Harapan. They would rather the DAP-led Pakatan Harapan wins the general election rather than another Malay or another Malay grouping.

And to make matters worse, Malays focus on fitnah, innuendoes, insinuations, fake news, slander, and lies as their chosen weapons of attack. Never mind whether what they say is true or false. Janji boleh jatuhkan musuh, cukup.

Malays have been reduced to a most immoral and manipulative race who apply the doctrine of the end justifies the means. Let’s hope Ismail Sabri Yaakob can clean up the filth and debris, especially in Umno, and cut away the cancer in Malay politics.

My vote is with Ismail Sabri. And I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. And I proclaim him innocent until proven guilty of being not smart enough to be Malaysia’s PM. After all, yang kata Ismail Sabri not smart enough to be Malaysia’s PM semua dengki anyway. So it is dengki talking.
