I gave Guan Eng luxury watch for birthday, says company director

The star witness in Lim Guan Eng’s undersea tunnel project corruption trial told the sessions court he gave a Swiss-made luxury watch to then Penang chief minister for his birthday to ensure the RM6.3 billion project would proceed smoothly.

(FMT) – Consortium Zenith BUCG Sdn Bhd director Zarul Ahmad Mohd Zulkifli said he met Lim at Komtar some time in December 2015 to give him the Maurice Lacroix watch as well as RM100,000 cash kept in an envelope.

“However, he only took the watch and returned the envelope,” he said.

“He looked happy when he received the watch.”
