Quit politics, let stability return, Wan Saiful tells ‘coward’ Zahid

(FMT) – Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan has urged Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to “retire”, saying the Bagan Datuk MP was the “mastermind” behind the country’s political instability.

In a Facebook post, Wan Saiful said the Barisan Nasional chairman’s retirement would allow stability to return to the country, and that Zahid was “desperate” to become the prime minister.

“You’re a liability to everyone around you because your focus is on creating instability. You’re better off retiring in order for stability to return to the country,” hed said.

Wan Saiful claimed that Zahid was the main player behind the move by 15 Umno MPs to betray their own government last August, when they signed statutory declarations in support of Anwar Ibrahim as the prime minister, and he was now putting current Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob under pressure.

He also called Zahid a “coward” for not wanting to have Umno’s elections until after the next general election (GE15).

He said it was “silly’ to believe that Zahid would actually defend Ismail instead of seizing power from him.

He also claimed that Zahid and former prime minister Najib Razak had intentionally created a political crisis in the country to save themselves.
