Police identify 1MDB documents related to husband of ex-Bank Negara governor
Top cop Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani says they will need to undergo the mutual legal assistance process at the Attorney-General’s Chambers to ensure that they can be accepted in Malaysian courts.
(MalaysiaNow) – The police have identified the documents and statements needed for the investigation into Tawfiq Ayman, the husband of former Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, in relation to 1MDB.
Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the documents and statements would need to undergo the mutual legal assistance (MLA) process at the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) to ensure that they could be accepted in Malaysian courts.
“In April 2022, the police issued an application under the MLA through the AGC to the Singaporean authorities,” he said in a statement.
