PH to probe PN govt’s RM500bil expenditure if it wins GE15

Melaka Pakatan Harapan chief Adly Zahari says PH will launch an investigation into claims that former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s government had spent RM500 billion during the Covid-19 pandemic, if it wins the general election.

(FMT) – Adly, who is the PH candidate for Alor Gajah, said legal action will be taken if corruption is found, as it involves taxpayers’ money.

“We promise to investigate even though Muhyiddin said the funds were used to help the nation face the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We will look at it from all aspects,” the former Melaka chief minister said at a ceramah in Masjid Tanah last night, Berita Harian reported.

Earlier, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim said he was ready to disclose PKR’s account statements if Muhyiddin does the same for Perikatan Nasional.

Muhyiddin had stated that he had no qualms providing Anwar with PN’s financial accounts but wondered if Anwar would do the same.

Anwar had previously claimed that PN had become the richest coalition from projects worth billions of ringgit during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On a separate note, Adly said PAS does not have as strong a presence in Melaka compared with Johor and Negeri Sembilan.
