BN has no pact with PN to form new govt, says Zahid
(FMT) – Barisan Nasional has denied claims by Gabungan Parti Sarawak chairman Abang Johari Openg that BN had agreed to form a government with Perikatan Nasional.
BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition had never, to date, negotiated with GPS on this matter, nor has it held any talks with PN, the coalition led by Muhyiddin Yassin.
“All BN candidates who won at the general election have also signed a pledge and given me the mandate as the (Umno) president to determine any political alliance to establish a government,” he said in a statement this evening.
Earlier today, GPS leader Abang Johari had said the Sarawak coalition will team up with PN, BN and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah to establish the next federal government.
He said GPS had decided to work with the three other coalitions to ensure a stable government is formed as soon as possible.
