We’ll talk about it, Anwar says on court cluster joining Cabinet
He says the matter will be discussed with the component parties of the unity government.
(MalaysiaNow) – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says the inclusion in the new Cabinet of MPs facing charges in court will be discussed with the component parties of the unity government.
Speaking at a press conference after taking his oath of office at Istana Negara yesterday, he said Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) stance on excluding MPs involved in corruption and abuse of power remained unchanged.
“But because it involves the issue of a unity government, we need to discuss it (with the government parties).
“The difference is when a sentence is handed down. When there has been a conviction, then according to PH’s stance, it will be difficult for us to continue.
“But allow me the space to discuss this in detail with the other parties in the unity government,” he said in Kajang, Selangor yesterday.
