(FMT) – Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s government spent the most on such exercises compared to his predecessor and successor.
Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s administration spent a little over RM62 million in the rebranding of his “Keluarga Malaysia” government, the Dewan Rakyat was told.
In total, the current administration and the past two governments spent RM62,764,107 on rebranding exercises as of Jan 30, Sabah, Sarawak affairs and special functions minister Armizan Ali revealed.
Muhyiddin Yassin’s “Kerajaan Prihatin” government spent RM181,752 on rebranding exercises, while Anwar Ibrahim’s administration spent RM489,216 for the “Malaysia Madani” rebranding programmes.
“The total sum is based on programmes implemented by the eighth prime minister up to the current one,” Armizan said when replying to Aminolhuda Hasan (PH-Sri Gading), who wanted to know how much had been allocated for rebranding exercises for the current and past two governments.
He also said only one programme was implemented by Muhyiddin’s government as Malaysia was under lockdown imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Anwar had launched the “Malaysia Madani” slogan, intended to guide the country forward, last month.
Madani is the Malay acronym for SCRIPT, which stands for sustainability, care and compassion, respect, innovation, prosperity, and trust.
Ismail had unveiled the Keluarga Malaysia concept in October 2021 which embraced inclusivity.
