PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang claims that a “cruelty fest” is taking place, with individuals aligned with Perikatan Nasional being dragged to the courts simply for making comments to the press.

Speaking at a ceramah at the party’s headquarters in Taman Melewar here last night, Hadi also claimed that the country’s judiciary process was akin to “instant noodles”.

“A ‘cruelty fest’ is taking place, which is caused by electing the wrong government and leaders. This has to be stopped,” said the Marang MP.

“You get dragged to court for simply making comments to the media, which should not be happening.

“We have to follow the right process, not this ‘instant noodle’ (process).”

Hadi also called on voters to throw their support behind the coalition in the upcoming state elections in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang.

“With God’s will, we will show what it takes to wrest all these states. We will not be hasty and we know that God will be with those who have been oppressed,” added Hadi.

The ceramah was organised as a show of solidarity for Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin, who was charged with four counts of abuse of power and two counts of money laundering on Friday in relation to the Jana Wibawa project.

Meanwhile, PN election director Azmin Ali said it was better to change the government rather than see its leaders “being cruel” towards Muhyiddin.

He also claimed that the government is getting “nervous” due to the shift in voters towards PN.

“He (Muhyiddin) was accused and dragged to the court because he kickstarted a mass movement together with PAS and Gerakan under PN,” added the former minister.
