Rally to topple govt? Not true, say cops

Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya says the security situation in the city remains under control.

(FMT) – Two viral messages on social media about a mass rally in Kuala Lumpur to topple the government are not true, say the police.

Dang Wangi district police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the security situation in the city remains under control, Bernama reported.

He added that action can be taken against anyone sharing the viral messages concerned.

“Members of the public are also reminded to always be extra vigilant and not make any statements that could cause public concern. We will act against anyone sharing such posts,” he said in a statement.

Yesterday, two almost identical messages were being shared on social media claiming that there would be a mass rally by the Malays in the capital, with the intention of toppling the so-called unity government.
