SRC’s suit against Najib to be heard in 2025

(The Star) – The RM42mil civil lawsuit filed by SRC International Sdn Bhd and its subsidiary Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd (GMSB) against former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been fixed for trial in 2025.

Lawyer Kwan Will Sen, who represented the companies, told the media that the trial is scheduled for hearing before Judicial Commissioner Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Raja Mohzan from Jan 13 to 17; Jan 20 to 24; Feb 12 to 14; and Feb 24 to 26, 2025.

Another case management is fixed for Aug 4.

Lawyer Wan Mohammad Arfan Wan Othman, who appeared for Najib in the proceedings, confirmed the dates.

The dates were fixed during an online case management yesterday.

SRC and Gandingan Mentari sued Najib on May 7, 2021 for alleged criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and misappropriation of SRC’s funds.

The suit is among 22 civil actions launched by 1MDB and SRC against those who had allegedly defrauded the companies and breached fiduciary duties.
