‘If they keep insisting for govt to dissolve, when can law amendments be made? – Azalina

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said legal amendments can be made, but the process usually takes more time.

(Sinar Daily) – The government is currently working towards making amendments to several laws including the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said legal amendments can be made, but the process usually takes more time.

She added that ideally, the government would like to implement these legal amendments concurrently to ensure their efficient execution.

She said this in response to Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad’s (Pakatan Harapan – Kuala Selangor) question on when these amendments could be implemented.

Dzulkefly: I believe in the minister’s commitment and let’s not make it too complicated. Let’s do it all at once.

“But, if there are always calls to dissolve the government, how can we make the amendments?,” Azalina interjected.
