“Obviously Zahid is nervous, restless if PAS becomes part of the PH-BN set-up”

(Focus Malaysia) – PAS Selangor secretary Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir has taken a jibe at UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi whom he accused to be unsettled with the revelation that Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has gone to the extent of inviting PAS to cooperate with the unity government.

This follows the negative remarks made by the Deputy PM who admitted that he was tired of PAS’ disloyal attitude towards UMNO when it was so easy to ‘fall in love’ and then ‘enter into matrimony’ with another party.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman further chided the Islamist party for its tendency of engaging in a mutaah (contract) marriage’ but eventually left BN and especially UMNO arbitrarily after having formed a collaboration through the setting up of Muafakat Nasional (MN).

“PAS is seemingly calm and did not comment (on the matter) while the MCA president commented that it was the PM’s prerogative to extend such an offer,” noted Roslan in a statement published in HarakahDaily.

“But suddenly, the UMNO president became shaky and gave a negative reaction as if PAS cannot be trusted as a partner and that anyone who is ‘married’ to PAS will end up disappointed.”

“Why is Zahid nervous and restless? Because UMNO is now part of Anwar’s unity government. But UMNO under Zahid today is not as strong as what the party used to be,” justified the former councillor with the Subang Jaya Coty Council.

“UMNO is now at its lowest ebb in its history and barely surviving with 26 parliamentary seats. That does not take into account its record of being disliked by the Malays. Ony the other hand, PAS is stronger than UMNO with 43 parliamentary seats and has become the largest party in the Dewan Rakyat, even bigger than DAP (40) and PKR (29).”

Added Roslan: “The Malays have ditched UMNO while adopting PAS as their spokesperson based on the GE15 (15th General Election) outcome. And PAS today rules four Malay majority states. Surely Zahid has every reason to be nervous and restless.”
