Police confirms summoning Razali to assist probe on alleged insulting remarks

Police have summoned Terengganu Bersatu Chief Datuk Razali Idris to assist in investigations regarding his statements considered insulting to the administration of the judicial system.

(Sinar Daily) – Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the Kijal assemblyman had allegedly made insulting remarks by stating decisions of the Judiciary were being controlled by the government.

“He (Razali) is believed to have made the statement during the launch of the Kemaman by-election machinery in Kemaman, Terengganu on Nov 10,” he said in a statement.

He said Razali’s statement was recorded under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the Chukai Police Station in Kemaman yesterday.

Mohd Shuhaily said Razali’s alleged statement at the Nov 10 event had been shared by TikTok account holder ‘@WANCIN11’ four days later.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“This case is still at the investigation stage, and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) reminds the public not to speculate so as not to jeopardise the investigation process,” he said.

Following this, he said the investigation papers will be expedited and referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers.

Last Wednesday, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) lodged a police report regarding an inaccurate TikTok application post that could affect public confidence in the country’s law enforcement and legal system.

In a statement, the MACC said through the post made by the account owner @WANCIN11, Razali was recorded allegedly making several false accusations.
