Annuar Musa: After Isham Jalil’s sacking, UMNO is surely fading into oblivion

“PN has taken over the role of BN while PAS has replaced UMNO in the hearts of the people.

(Focus Malaysia) – AMID the reportedly sacking of its supreme council member Datuk Isham Jalil, former UMNO warlord Tan Sri Annuar Musa has taken yet another swipe at the party’s president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for his arrogant attitude which has resulted in UMNO drifting further away from the Malay instinct and sentiment.

According to Annuar, only UMNO members themselves can determine the party’s future – if they would condone the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman to pursue his own agenda – or to look at an alternative like PAS which has consistently uphold the principle of modesty, openness, prioritising agreements and Islamic struggle.

“With the dismissal of Isham, we can picture what shape UMNO is in during Zahid’s era,” Annuar who was recently absorbed into the PAS working committee as a member penned on his Facebook page.

“UMNO will continue to be trapped in its president’s game as he (Zahid) remains in self-denial mode to protect the big stake belonging to him and his staunch supporters. They will continue to fight on the booty that they have amassed even though UMNO continues to sink deeper in the country’s political scene.”

As such, Annuar who was himself sacked by UMNO in the aftermath of the 15th General Election (GE15) last year for indiscipline has described as accurate the statement by PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man that “UMNO can remain bootlicking and lifting (menjualng) DAP”.

“They (UMNO’s leaders) will not listen to the signals from the Malays and Muslims but instead are more willing to double the efforts to sell the pro-liberalist, pluralist and socialist DAP narratives,” asserted Annuar. “UMNO led by Zahid is the symbol of the biggest success of DAP and PKR, thus once and for all, bury the party (UMNO) forever.”
