Rafizi most secure among PKR leaders, says ‘Lim Sian See’
The influencer makes a speculative prediction about what will befall PKR if a general election is held now and 80% of BN’s Malay voters switch to Perikatan Nasional.
(FMT) – Rafizi Ramli’s Pandan parliamentary seat would be the most secure among PKR leaders if Barisan Nasional loses 80% of its Malay voters to Perikatan Nasional, says a social media influencer who goes by “Lim Sian See” online.
In a speculative projection based on a separate study done by DAP’s Ong Kian Ming, he said PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail could lose their parliamentary seats if an election was called now.
Ong’s study showed that in seats contested by DAP, four out of five Malay voters who previously supported BN had switched votes to PN in the six state elections last August.
Based on this, Lim said if a general election was called now, PKR risked losing many parliamentary seats.
“PKR’s performance in the 2022 general election was actually not that great. It lost 34% of its seats, winning 31 compared to 47 in 2018.
“Anwar won only 39.8% of the total votes in Tambun while the Pakatan Harapan vote share dropped by 4.7%. Wan Azizah won only 46.7% of the votes in Bandar Tun Razak and PKR saw an 11.8% decrease in votes there,” Lim said.
He pointed out that Anwar’s daughter, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah and party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail both failed to defend their seats in Permatang Pauh and Kulim Bandar Baharu in 2022.
“Therefore, if elections are held now and if 80% of BN’s Malay votes shift to PN, then the PKR president, his wife, daughter and the party secretary-general would definitely lose.
“Rafizi, who won with more than 60% of the ballots cast would be the safest. If Rafizi succeeds in defending Pandan, and PKR leads PH and the government again, then Rafizi would be the 11th prime minister,” Lim said.
