DAP’s Kluang MP made TalentCorp chairman

Wong Shu Qi will be deputised by Khuzzan Abu Bakar, a former Johor executive councillor and ex-Semerah assemblyman.

(FMT) – DAP’s Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi has been appointed as the new chairman of Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd’s (TalentCorp) board of directors, effective today.

Wong, a two-term MP, is also the deputy chairman of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee and sits on the board of think tank Research for Social Advancement.

In a statement, TalentCorp announced that Wong’s deputy will be Khuzzan Abu Bakar, a former Johor executive councillor and ex-Semerah assemblyman.

The new board members of TalentCorp include Umno’s former Ketereh MP Alwi Che Ahmad, human resources secretary-general Khairul Dzaimee Daud and former Malaysia Youth Council president Jufitri Joha.

Human resources minister Steven Sim expressed confidence that the new appointees would be able to bring fresh and innovative ideas to develop Malaysia’s talent ecosystem.

“These appointments reflect TalentCorp’s continued significance as the human resources ministry’s strategic think tank, dedicated to attracting, nurturing, and retaining the human capital Malaysia needs to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by increasing globalisation and the demands of the future of work,” said Sim.
