Umno won’t work with PAS as long as Hadi is president, says Zahid
Barisan chairman cites PAS’ betrayal on joint decisions.
(The Vibes) – UMNO today said it will not cooperate with PAS as long as Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang is president of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) component party, reported Sinar Harian.
Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this was based on the party’s previous experience of working with PAS.
He claimed that PAS had betrayed them on numerous joint decisions.
“PAS has been lying from before till now. I am a living witness to the four-point discussion with Hadi.
“When we were face-to-face, we agreed, but the next day, he changed his mind and said he disagreed,” he said when opening the Kuala Kangsar Umno Delegates Conference 2024 at the Perak Jubilee Hall.
“As long as he (Hadi) is president, there is no hope of working with that party (PAS),” added Zahid.
