Bersatu’s notice denied: Rebels to keep parliamentary seats

The six seats held by Bersatu rebels will not be vacated despite a notice issued by the party, as confirmed by Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

(NST) – The six seats held by Bersatu rebels will not be vacated despite a notice issued by the party.

This was confirmed by Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during a press conference in Parliament today.

Muhyiddin said that Bersatu received a letter yesterday evening from Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul, which stated that the seats would remain occupied.

“The decision deeply disappoints us as it contradicts the explicit provisions of Article 49a, Section 3 of the Federal Constitution,” he said.
